Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, EnRoute & Dolce

310 Lorton Avenue, Burlingame 94010

Far Niente was originally established in 1885 by John Benson, a ‘Forty-Niner’ who came west during the California Gold Rush. It thrived until 1919 when Prohibition hit and the winery was abandoned. Sixty years later, in 1979, Gil Nickel purchased the estate and began a three-year restoration project of the property, releasing the first estate bottled Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines with the 1982 vintage. A few years later in 1985, Gil created Dolce, the first, and still only, winery in America dedicated to a single late-harvest dessert wine, an unctuous blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Then, in 1997, Gil founded Nickel & Nickel to focus on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard designated wines. He followed that in 2007 with the launch of a new Russian River Valley estate called EnRoute for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The tasting will feature the following wines:

2018 Far Niente Chardonnay, Napa Valley - $90
