Tour the World with Wilson Daniels

310 Lorton Avenue, Burlingame 94010

Started in 1978, Wilson Daniels has been responsible for bringing some of the world's greatest wines to the United States. Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Leflaive, Champagne Gosset, Biondi Santi Brunello, Dal Forno Romano, and just recently they added Gaja to their impressive list. They seem to have a knack for working with the most premier wineries in many parts of the wine world. Even if you don't know the wineries we're showing next week, you can be assured that the wines will be outstanding! (And a HELL of a deal at $30 for 7 wines!)

2020 Bisol Prosecco Superiore Brut

Velvet 48 Wine List: $45

Premier Prosecco producer since 1542!

2020 Kumeu River Estate Chardonnay, New Zealand

95 Points, James Suckling!

Velvet 48 Wine List: $75

James Suckling's 2021 100pt wine of the year was one of their single vineyard offerings and their Estate grown is no slouch! Think Premier Cru Burgundy for 1/3 of the price!

2021 Le Clos Peyrassol Rosé, Côtes de Provence

Velvet 48 Wine List: $120

Yes, our absolute, hands down, no arguments about it, quintessential rosé. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's worth it.

2019 Arista Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Velvet 48 Wine List: $125

Quickly becoming one of the BENCHMARK Russian River Valley producers, with Williams Selyem on one side and DuMOL on the other, Arista is one Pinot you need to get to know.

2018 Castello di Volpaia, Chianti Classico Riserva

Velvet 48 Wine List: $80

Long adored by the Wine Spectator (the 2016 was #11 on their Top 100 a couple years ago) they consistently score huge and the 2018 is my favorite vintage to date. A must-try!

2015 Château Clarke, Listrac, Bordeaux

Velvet 48 Wine List: $95

It's not often we get to buy Bordeaux that's already ready to drink. Deep and complex, it can age for another decade, but why wait?

2018 Royal Tokaji Co., Late Harvest

Velvet 48 Wine List: $45

When the top Tokaji producer produces an entry-level dessert wine, it makes for the perfect finishing move in our tour of the wine world!
