BANG FOR YOUR BUCK PINOT NOIRS!

$140.00

2020 Routestock Cellars Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Produced by Wilson Daniels, the importer that brings in Leflaive & DRC (!), comes their own label of wines that are meant to evoke the place and heritage of some key domestic varietals. This Pinot reminds me of a much more expensive Russian River version of the same grape.

2019 Pali Wine Co. "Riviera" Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
Riviera is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from two vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA: Pali's vineyard in the south-eastern corner of the AVA, and a small, family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA (a sub-AVA within Sonoma Coast). It always strikes me as a wine that should be more expensive.

2019 Calera Pinot Noir, Central Coast
New vintage of a Velvet 48 employee favorite!! Crafted using grapes from a handful of the finest vineyards on the Central Coast, this alluring wine offers lovely aromatics, soft, velvety tannins, and vibrant fruit.

2017 ROOM Pinot Noir, Marin County
This was a huge hit when we included it in our wine club and poured it by the glass. "ROOM is an exploration of vineyards, varietals, and techniques from across California and the world. The one constant is the defining style of all of the wines--aromatic purity, fruit intensity, a soft texture, and steadfast drinkability." - Andy Erickson, Winemaker & Owner

2017 Copain "Tous Ensemble" Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast
A newcomer to the Velvet 48 list, Copain is dedicated to producing top-quality vineyard designated wines that are complex, varietally correct, and food friendly without being heavy handed. The goal for this blend is a wine that is true to the Copain style of being an elegant expression of Pinot Noir, yet a bit more friendly to drink upon release. On the nose are screaming aromatics: hints of pomegranate and anise, and, as the wine opens up, strawberry and black tea emerge. This wine is plush on the entry, but given tension by its fine grain tannin and nervy acid.

2019 Cotiere Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills
Cotiere always seems to overdeliver and this bottling is no different. If you're familiar with the Santa Barbara Cuvee we've brought you in the past, you'll love this slightly higher end Pinot. Layers of fruit and classic Pinot spice and mineral, soft tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long and nuanced.
