 “From one of the top sites in the Russian River Valley and brought up in 40% new French oak, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Ritchie Vineyard offers an Haut-Brion Blanc-like bouquet of caramelized pineapple, honeyed flowers, lemon butter, and quince, with a touch of rocky minerality thrown in for good measure. Beautifully rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it has a beautiful spine of acidity and a monster of a finish. It ranks with the finest Sauvignon Blancs coming out of California today! I'd lean toward drinking bottles over the coming 3-5 years, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for over a decade.”

2020 Alphonse Mellot Sancerre La Moussiere

Located at the heart of Sancerre, the Alphonse Mellot is new addition to our wine list but the name is one of the better known Sancerres in the wine world. Clean and pure, this is classic Sancerre.
La Moussière is the estate’s flagship cuvee, its richness, energy and precision defining the Alphonse Mellot style. This 100% Sauvignon white wine has a floral and fruity nose combining white flowers with citrus fruits, a resplendent golden robe with glints of green, and a lively, refreshing palate.

Just landed from one of Velvet 48's favorite wineries, Turnbull's 2021 is currently being poured by the glass here and really overdelivers. Tropical fruit and crisp texture lend it to seafood but you can easily slug down a few glasses all on it's own!
